Scratch Block Coding Basics – Early Elementary
July 10 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Scratch Jr Block Coding – Ages 5-9
Scratch Jr is an introductory programming language, inspired by MIT’s Scratch block coding language. It enables young children (ages 5-7) to create their own interactive stories and games by using icon-based blocks.
In this lesson children will learn how to use these graphical programming blocks to make characters move, jump, dance, and sing. Children can modify characters in the paint editor, add their own voices and sounds, even insert photos of themselves!
As the programming blocks are icon-based, this lesson is appropriate for children who are still learning to read.
If you’d like to learn more before registering, you can head over to the Scratch Jr website, or give us a call.
After this lesson you can make additional appointments to learn more.
After online registration closes, please contact SDM for space availability.
This topic can also be taught at any time in individual sessions. Please call for more information.
Cancellation must be at least 48 hours before the lesson begins to avoid further appointment restrictions.
