iOS 18 control center customization is an exciting new feature that comes in Apple’s latest update. You can personalize your control center with the customization options you want.
In this post we will go over what the control center is for anyone who isn’t sure, and how to customize it in whatever way you please.
What is the Control Center?
The control center is the menu drops down when users drag their finger from the top right of the iPhone screen. For iPhone SE users, drag from the bottom of the screen up.
Before iOS 18 this was mostly a preset screen with connection controls, music control, a flashlight button, an quick camera access button, and a few limited customizable options.
Apple revamped how much users could control this screen, and now the layouts and combinations are near limitless.

How to customize it
In order to customize this menu, you first access it by pulling down from the top right of the phones screen. More specifically pull down from the area where you see your mobile data strength, Wi-Fi strength, and battery percentage.
Once open, hit the + in the top right of the menu to add and edit. You can also hold your finger down on any blank space within the menu.

Once editable, icons will appear on the buttons.
The existence of these icons are the indicators that the icons can be edited/moved. It’s important to note that they do not wiggle the same way that apps do on the home screen.
When selecting functions, you will see a large list of generic phone functions, and any app or accessibility functions that are available to put here. To find what you are looking for, search or scroll through them.
At the top left of the icons here is a remove option. Hit this if there are functions you do not need or care for or if you placed one by mistake.
There is also a handle on the bottom right of it. This handle allows you to stretch an option into a bigger button.

- There are 3 button options shown within the flashlight example. These options are:
- a 1×1 circle
- a 2×1 bar
- a 2×2 square
Currently, you can not make a vertical button that is 1×2. The only 1×2 vertical options are sliders like brightness and volume.
You also have the ability to add scrolling pages in the control center now, allowing you to add more functionality, or separate the layout. To access these, press any blank spot on the menu and swipe down.
