Creating a Google and Gmail account is your gateway to a range of Google services, from email to cloud storage. In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up your account quickly and easily. Whether you’re a beginner or need a refresher, follow these steps to get started.
Making a Gmail Account: A Pictorial Guide
Step 1: Go to the Google Account Creation Page
Once your web browser is open, you will go to the Google Account Creation Page
To make a personal account. Click on “Create account” and select “For my Personal Use” from the dropdown menu
Step 2: Fill in Your Basic Information
Google and Gmail require some basic personal info from the end user, that would be us! So let us fill in our information, in this instance, I’ll be Maxmilian DeWinter, and proceed to hit the “Next” button and continue on.
Then you must provide a birthdate, month/day/year in the appropriate fields, and select your gender.
You will be directed to create a strong password for your Google/Gmail account. A standard password format is at least eight characters long, one upper case, one lower case, a number, and a symbol(!@#$?). Then retype and confirm your password.
You will then be prompted to fill in your cell phone number. Google will send an OTP, one-time paring, code to your cell. Enter the code, not including the “G-” that precedes the OTP. Once that is confirmed you will then be able to proceed forward.
Now we can make our Google and Gmail addresses, email addresses are not case sensitive, so capitalization doesn’t matter here. We can take the suggestions from Google on available emails or we can create a custom name.
Review your information and then proceed to “Next”.
After reviewing all of our pertinent information for Google we can now see our inbox and our Google Account Icon in the top right corner of the screen. The green circle with the white M is our user, “Maximillian DeWinter”
Conclusion
With that, we have reached the end of the process of making a Google/Gmail account! You will now be able to use your Gmail and Google account to register and login on many diverse sites. Not only is your Gmail an email, it is your passport to the net! Remember Email is only one of many ways you can use Google’s suite of tools.
