On a Mac, click the ‘Share’ button in the toolbar. The share icon looks the same across all Apple devices; it’s the icon with an upward arrow coming out of a box. On an iPhone or iPad, tap the ‘Share’ icon at the bottom of the screen. In the image, the red arrow points to the share icon.
How to Make the Shortcut
In the ‘Share’ menu, scroll until you find ‘Add to Home Screen/Add to Dock’ and click on it. This option allows you to make a direct shortcut to the website on your device’s home screen.
After clicking “Add to Dock,” another window will open, prompting you to name your shortcut. Choose a descriptive name, such as “Home – SDM Foundation.” Once the shortcut is named, click ‘Add.’
After clicking ‘Add,’ your new Safari web shortcut will appear on your dock, providing fast access with just one click.
Here’s how to do it on iPhone or iPad:
Open Safari and navigate to the website you want to makle a shortcut for.
For consistency we’ll use the SDM Homepage on iPhone safari.
Tap the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen.”
Enter a name for the shortcut, then tap “Add” on the top right corner of the window.
Your new Safari web shortcut will now appear on your home screen or dock, providing fast access with just one click.
