Many Windows users have experienced the News and Interests popup suddenly appear from the taskbar. If you find this annoying, and don’t want it to happen, you can fix it! Read on to learn how to turn off the News and interest popup on Windows.
Whenever you hovers over the weather information on their taskbar, the News and Interests popup appears. Because this is the default setting, it can be confusing when it keeps happening.
How to change it
To alleviate this issue, right click on the weather information on the taskbar. Scroll up to news and interests and click.
Simply click the “open on hover” option. Now this menu will only popup when a user left clicks on the weather information itself.
You can also change other things in this menu. You can turn off the weather button completely, show only an icon that can be clicked on, or show the icon as well as the text. If weather information is welcomed, then keep it set to show icon and text.
Check out this Microsoft Support Page if you would like more information on this menu and how to control it.
