Apple AirPods are wonderful in-ear headphones. Because they are so small, it is sometimes tricky to know if you are pushing the right button. Here are some AirPod tips and tricks to help you out.
What do the lights mean on the AirPod case?
- No light : Battery is dead and will need to be charged
- Amber light when the AirPods are in the case : Battery is charging
- Amber light when the AirPods are out of case : Battery is less than 50%
- Green light when the AirPods are in the case : AirPods are fully charged
- Green light when the AirPods are out of case : AirPod case is fully charged
- White flashing light : After reset or when new – ready to connect
- Amber flashing light : Pairing error, may need to reset and pair again.
What to do if music randomly starts and stops playing?
If AirPods start and stop playing music randomly, try disabling “automatic ear detection” in the bluetooth settings menu.
Go to settings>
Choose bluetooth >
Click the blue “i” icon next to AirPods under my devices
look for automatic ear detection and disable it.
Resetting your AirPods:
If you can’t connect to your phone to your AirPods, or they won’t charge, you might need to reset them.
To reset your AirPods
- press and hold the button on the back of the AirPods case for more than 10 seconds.
- This will unpair them from the device and make them ready to pair again.
- The light will flash (white) meaning ready to pair or connect.
This can also be achieved by going to
- Settings
- bluetooth, the AirPods
- press forget device.
Adjust double tap feature:
AirPods can be set to either activate Siri, Play/Pause, go to Next track, previous track, or turn off by double tapping them. In fact, each AirPod can be set to different double tap actions.
To set the double tap to the action you choose, go to settings> bluetooth> under my devices tap the blue “i” icon there you will see the “double Tap on AirPod” setting for both left and right Airpods. Here you can assign your desired function for the double tap feature.
